At Travelmunky we're passionate about travel and every member of the team has been involved in the industry for well over 10 years. Some of us even remember a time when there were more than two 'big' tour operators and there was no such thing as Ryanair! So, we're a fairly experienced lot and we're seriously well travelled, too.
We've worked for a number of travel businesses, big and small, and Travelmunky has been created so that we can bring together all the things we like about the industry and none of the things we don't. It's a fairly unique business which feeds on the ideas and experiences of the team to ensure we're always one step ahead of the High Street.
Travelmunky is a proud member of The Global Travel Group (membership number M0629), the UK's largest consortium of independent travel agents. This membership gives us access to the buying power of an enormous group but also allows us to retain our individuality, our sense of fun and our own interpretation of what makes for a great customer experience. It's the best of both worlds and everyone benefits because of it.
We can sell all the products offered by over 200 tour operators, 300 airlines and over 100,000 hotels and villas around the world. We have contracts with all the major tour operators like Thomson and Thomas Cook as well as more specialist operators such as Cadogan, Red Sea Holidays, Elegant Resorts and many, many more. So, we're just another travel agent then, right? Wrong. We're much more than that. Unlike the vast majority of the High Street travel agencies, which are owned by the Thomson or Thomas Cook groups, we're completely independent and not restricted in what we sell. Whatever you want to do, wherever you want to do it we can help.
As part of The Global Travel Group we also have access to our own direct contracts that are often cheaper than the packages you find in brochures. We'll always look at both options for you and give you the opportunity to save money wherever possible, without lowering your standards. That's part of the Travelmunky difference and we're proud of it.
Being part of The Global Travel Group has other advantages too. Every package we sell, either online or offline, is ATOL protected for your security and, in these uncertain times, this should be a major source of comfort for travellers. The Government administered ATOL scheme is designed to take over arrangements and cover costs incurred in the event that an airline or tour operator ceases trading.
It is not widely known that most airline tickets booked online are not ATOL protected and that's why we also offer Airline Failure Insurance for our flight-only customers to cover against the risk of airlines collapsing in the current climate.
Furthermore, all money paid to Travelmunky is immediately placed in the Global Travel Group Trust Account and covered by a unique Customer Protection Guarantee. This means that both your money and your holiday are perfectly secure when you book through Travelmunky.
